About

Chrissy Mahanna, LCSW

Chrissy is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work with 20 years in the social service and nonprofit fields. She brings her honed social work skills, solutions-oriented approach, and a transformational vision to all her work. As a long-term leader in the social service sector and adjunct professor, she has specific expertise in program design, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development, strategic planning, grant writing, quality improvement and licensing/accreditation.

In addition to her work at Compass, Chrissy is an Affiliate Consultant with Support Center, a trusted partner to nonprofits in the greater NY/CT/NJ area for over 30 years. She is an Adjunct Professor at Quinnipiac University, teaching Program Evaluation and Research in the School of Health Sciences Master of Social Work program. Chrissy also leverages her expertise serving on the Board of Directors at Norwalk ACTS and Community Mindfulness Project where she is Secretary and Vice Chair (respectively). Norwalk ACTS is a collective impact organization aiming to transform systems by ensuring resources, policies, practices, and power structures actively dismantle racism and drive equitable outcomes for every Norwalk child and young person. Community Mindfulness Project aims to make the public health tool of mindfulness broadly accessible, especially within under-resourced and historically marginalized communities. Her volunteer work extends beyond Board service as she is also active with Impact Fairfield County and Social Impact Partners for Connecticut.

While Chrissy loves her work, we're all so much more than our profession. She is a wife and parent, an avid yogi who teaches regularly, lover of music, novice potter and someone who believes time in nature is time well spent.
